Open House #2 at Basalt High School on May 9th got down into a bit more of the specifics. The Team took what we heard from the first open house and distilled it down to some major themes. The following images summarize what was presented. The Town of Basalt will announce the effort to develop a new Master Plan to the community and get preliminary tasks rolling with Kickoff Meetings and the first Open House to help collect general Visions and Goals. A Deep Dive into Historic Data will help the team get more informed about Basalt's present and past.
2.0 Gather
What We've Shared has finished this stage
The team will Absorb and Understand the data found through the data dive and the first public open house. Five Neighborhood Workshops will be held to gather community members in smaller brainstorming sessions on a wide range of topics relative to the Master Plan.
3.0 Vision
What We've Shared has finished this stage
Public Meeting #2 and #3 will poll items of specific critical issues and brainstorm solutions. Including, an Affordable Housing Work Session with leading affordable housing expert Randy Rhoads and Short In-House Info Sessions. For example, the team will "ride-along" with police, Pitkin and Eagle County staff, and other public servants to better understand the opportunities and constraints in town functionality.

What We've Shared is currently at this stage
The team will distill down all of the data, information, opinions and comments related to the master planning process and proposed possible solutions. Tasks include a series of growth maps, layered diagrams, individual parcel planning and design, capital improvement plan, and typologies. A Public Stakeholder Review session will inform the final design.
