Community Projects

This list of projects has been identified throughout the community input process. Projects have been organized into 'buckets' of anticipated cost ranges to better help you understand the resources required to accomplish them. These will be ‘government funded’, though many projects may be accomplished via grants, partnerships, borrowing, bonding, etc.

Primary Parcels

There were several key parcels identified as important areas to consider for future land use. These are shown in green on the map below. Of those, four primary parcels were chosen to be studied in greater depth regarding their potential land use. These are shown in red.

Flourish - What spaces in and around Basalt are most important to you? What type of art and entertainment should the Town facilitate? 

Move - Where could we use more way-finding signage, bike racks, shared bikes (e.g. WE-Cycle), car share, electric vehicle charging stations, parking in the downtown areas, wider roads and additional turn lanes? Where do you think we need more sidewalks or trails in or near Town?  

Work - What business types are most needed in Basalt and where?

Build & Grow - What type of housing would you most like to see more of in Basalt? What are some historically significant assets in our community? Where should Basalt encourage growth? Where do you feel the Town could improve its relationship to the Rivers? Where can the Town's parks be improved?
